Employee Onboarding Goes Digital

Enterprise Tech Success, one of the leading technology publications, knows the importance of keeping up with the latest trends. Transforming and updating itself with every single issue, Enterprisetechsuccess Magazine aims to be the ‘sans pareil’ of industrial knowledge. That’s why they’ve featured an article written by Click’s own Chief Revenue Officer, Christine Marino, titled “The State of Employee Onboarding & Engagement in the New Digital Age.”

Today, the world is more digital than ever. The pandemic changed every part of daily life, especially work life. Zoom calls replaced conference rooms, living rooms replaced offices, and kitchen tables replaced desks. Everything that was previously in-person is now done through a screen, and onboarding is no exception. Your employee onboarding and engagement strategies need to reflect the reality of the digital transformation.

Employees are working under completely different conditions than they were in previous years, and many companies are finding that their infrastructure is failing to meet the rapidly expanding digital needs of their teams. Having digital platforms to host all of your business needs – from operations to customer management to onboarding – is the beginning of the story, but it’s not all of it. It’s not just enough to have tools; you also need to have a strategy for how to use them.

Click recommends four core requirements for a digital onboarding platform. First, be cloud-based. The best remote onboarding platforms are cloud-based, secure and managed centrally. Second, they must be be customizable, engaging and informative. An effective employee onboarding platform needs to support change, especially during volatile times such as the pandemic. Third, your platform must be mobile-first. New and existing employees are hungry for news and updates. With a mobile-first onboarding platform, you can instantly connect with employees on their phones. Finally, be compliant. An automated onboarding platform must be compliant with state, local, federal, GDPR and SOC 2 Type 2 regulations with an extensive form library and customization capabilities.
